I live in Grantville Georgia and Wade in Newnan Georgia. We are about 9 miles apart. I first met Wade in 2005. He had placed and ad in our Georgia Farmers Market Bulletin for a goat he was giving away. I read the ad, all the while thinking, I know this name from somewhere, I've heard it before. At that time I was raising Cuckoo Marans and Welsumers. Any way, I called and the goat was gone. I asked Wade, do you raise any other type livestock? Your name sounds awfully familar. He replied, Marans...BINGO...That  was where I saw that name..the web...Thats where the friendship started. Later he gave me 4 dark eggs, said take these home and put them in your incubator, didn't say if they were C1 or C2, and I didn' ask, just glad to get them.

 Two years later in January of 2007, a tornado came through our area and demoed Wades poultry house, and damaged his house heavily. He lost several of his birds to this storm.

  In Feb. at the Newnan Ga. Poultry show Wade introduced me to Charles Logan. Wade had asked Charles to bring me a dozen each of the C1 and C2 lines of hatching.Man they where dark.Hatched them!! Charles and I have become good friends and support each other in this endeavor.

 Wade rebuilt the poultry house and made the repairs to his home,which took about 6 months.All the while county inspectors were eyeballing the poultry house.

Well in July the county made him get rid of his birds siting a county ordinance about livestock enclosures and the property line, and the crowing of the Roo's.

    After the storm damaged his orginal bird house, Wade had only a few of his originall stock left, other than what Channing had. Black and Blue Copper,Wheaten,Birchen and Black Tail Buff.

      Wade gave Charles Logan of Harpersville,Ala. all his hens and roo's.

   I had my Blackcoppers from  Wade and received a pair of Wades Bluecoppers from Charles.

   Wades brother Kelvin had 20, C-1 Blackcopper hens. He ran a ad in the Georgia Farmers Market Bulliten.

   Jesse Bryant of Franklin Georgia answered the ad and received the hens.No Roo. Kelvin and Wade released no roosters with those hens.Jesse got no Roo's from Charles Logan,Channing Grisham or myself to keep that line going. Where he got a Black Copper Roo ???  

  There are a lot of people that purchased birds from Jesse Bryant in one way or another and we hope they are happy. They are many stories on the web about what he got and how he got them. This is here to set the facts straight.

  It is not up for debate and we will not respond to any email questions or comments about it. This was printed merely to set the record straight.We apoligize now if anyone is offended by the truth.

  Wade entrusted the hens and roo's to people he knew and that would keep them pure, and true to the standard.
